Notes on

We are always in the market to buy books. Single volumes like you see here, entire libraries, or just a few choice books. Please see our page on what we buy before contacting us to sell your book

We purchase hardback books in most categories and desire our books to be in excellent condition since that is what most of our customers expect. Unfortunately, we cannot buy textbooks, book club editions, paperbacks, or books that have been extensively underlined, highlighted, or annotated . Our commitment is to provide the best price possible for good books offered to us and generally we do not provide quotes. You should research your book first and determine a price you would like to receive. If we decide to buy, we may accept that price or give you a counter offer for your book.

These Victorian era books range from children's classics to fairy tales. If you ask any adult what some of their most powerful and precious memories they have of their childhood, many will tell you it is the bedtime story read to them or the first book they read themselves as a child. They remember their first chapter book or the wonderful illustrations seen on the pages even before they could read. Some of the most influential lessons learned came not only from parents but from books read as children.

These story books for children included beautiful illustrated story books and short, simple story books from leading children’s authors of the era, ideal for bedtime story reading or for early readers. These books were frequently gifts from relatives; grandparents, uncles and aunts, parents and siblings. As a result many were kept in pristine condition, then passed on down to the next generation.
