Here you will find famous works by the greatest poets of our time. Arguably the poetry books of the Victorian era have some of the best looking covers and often include wonderful illustrations to compliment the poems. There are many poets who achieved world wide recognition for their talent. Some became known to the world, others were lost to obscurity. As we find these compiled works, we pass them on to you. Shakespeare , Keats, Poe .... Shelly, Longfellow, and Blake, as well as a thousand others. They came from England, France, Japan, China, The United States and everywhere in between ... telling us stories in rhyme of love and sorrow that we remember to this day. A poetic quote can become a way to a girl's heart or trigger an emotion deep within ourselves. It almost seemed like the poets of old knew what we were feeling and only they could place these feelings in words we understood. Some forms of poetry are specific to the particular culture and genre, responding to the characteristics of the language in which the poet writes. While readers accustomed to identifying poetry with Dante, Goethe, Mickiewicz and Rumi may think of it as being written in rhyming lines and regular meter, there are traditions, such as those of Du Fu and Beowulf, that use other approaches to achieve rhythm.
